Diving Center Kostrena organizes diving courses based on the most famous world association’s programs – PADI, CMAS, SSI, TSII.

Diving is a very interesting and popular sport and the most important thing is to have good fun. Even though diving should never be taken lightly, considering that it demands exceptional responsibility and knowledge about all possible risks and dangerous situations connected with this sport, with proper and professional training by experts, diving can on sporting and recreational bases be a great source of different pleasures.

The discovery of the underwater world and diving into the special “world of silence” becomes an invaluable experience and you can easily fall in love with this sport.

When we take into the consideration the beauty and richness of the Adriatic Sea and all its diversity, diving can represent both adventure and pleasure every time you do it.

The basic beginners’ course is the OWD-Open Water Diver.

In this course the individual gets qualifications and skills for independent diving through the theoretical and practical parts of the course. At the end of the course the individual receives the internationally recognized bravet i.e. certificate which proves that the individual is qualified to dive to a depth of up to 18 meters ( of course accompanied by another diver).

Before starting the OWD course you must do a Discovery Dive where you learn the basics of diving and that is also an interesting way to discover the underwater world and the feeling of being underwater and most importantly to see the student’s reaction to a new environment. Discovery dive is done individually with the instructor and it includes introduction with the equipment and the principles of diving by staying underwater for about 20 minutes at the depth of 6-7 meters.

OWD course lasts minimally 4-5 days but it usually lasts for 7-10 days depending on the student’s progress.

There are two parts of the course. The theoretical part consists of 10 lessons and at the end of that part of the course there is a final exam. All the necessary literature is provided. Practical part includes 5-6 dives into the sea where students perform a series of practical exercises which enables them  for the independent dive.

The courses are held at the time most convenient to the student.

All the equipment used in the course is included in the price and after completing the course we offer the possibility of continuing diving in Diving Center Kostrena and renting the equipment by promotional prices.
